The cast iron potjie pot has legendary status in South Africa as the go-to item for cooking traditional ‘Potjie’ stew, maize meal and vetkoek, to name a few. Now also available in the flat-bottomed version, making it ideal for use with gas stoves, in the oven or on gas grills. These pots come complete with a carrying handle and lid and have been oil-cured already.

AFTER EACH USE
Rinse your pot out with warm water and use a brush or scraper to remove stuck-on bits. For really stuck-on food, scrub with salt and oil, rinse and wipe clean. Dry the pan and coat with a thin layer of oil. Store until ready to use. Cool the pan and store until ready to cook again.
STORING YOUR POTJIE
After each use, wash the potjie pot and dry overheat source to remove excess moisture. Coat the inside with cooking oil or Spray and Cook. Store your potjie with the lid on with absorbent paper inside.
